Read Metacognix arguments for ZRP.Optional: Why you should play without musicįor all games: apply both the latest AtmosFear and Absolute Nature content as are available, after applying the tweaks below first. If you only want/have time to play one of the three, Shadow of Chernobyl is still the recommended one to play, because (spoiler-free) the other two carry on with a certain game element that assumes past plot knowledge, and feels awkwardly (and possibly annoyingly) unexplained without experience of SoC. Note that if you ever use Steam to validate local files, then this will re-write the "fsgame" file back to default.Always start with SoC, and then play either of the other two in any order (usually in the order of release). When you make the change in Notepad - save the change. "$app_data_root$=true|false|C:\Program Files (x86)\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\stalker shadow of chernobyl\STALKER-SHOC\" And I put it there because that's where the SoC game files are. "$app_data_root$=true|false|C:\xxxxxxxxx" where xxxxxxxx is the default "Users\Public\AllUsers\" or somesuch. ![]() Open the folder "fsgames" with notepad and edit the first line of the file to direct the savegames to to where you want them. In the Steam folder for SoC is a file called "fsgame" -Ĭ:\Program Files (x86)\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\stalker shadow of chernobyl\fsgameīut it IS in your steamapps folder wherever you have that! and in my case with Vista64, the folder didn't exist. Whatever, I think it is a legacy from XP. I had this problem when I got SoC at Xmas:-īy default the game saves to a folder called "C:\Users\Public\All Users\STALKER-SHOC\" or something like this - I don't remember exactly. I followed this guys steps and it worked perfectly give it a try :) (ive just copied his message below) ![]()
